In simple terms, Cerebral Palsy is a disorder which is caused by damage to the brain. It inhibits muscle control, both fine and gross. It is a non-progressive disorder, and can actually improve over time with various therapies.

A person's mental ability or condition is not affected by cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy by definition only affects a person's motor skills. However, since cerebral palsy stems from damage to the brain, often times other neurological disorders accompany it. This site was made to explore some of the most common disorders that are concurrent with cerebral palsy.

I've included a glossary on this site which contains many of the terms used, and also many terms that were not used but are related to the various topics discussed.

This site is a work in progress and I will be adding more information as time permits. If you would like to contribute to this site, please feel free to Email Me with any suggestions, links to resources, or research you feel would be helpful.

Thank you,
